Situated on the top of Hogback Mountain near Haystack and Mt Snow, the Skyline Restaurant has an 180° view looking south to Massachusetts. On clear days you can apparently see for 100 miles, and the restaurant must rake in the tourists during leaf-peeping season.
Unfortunately, the eggs Benedict don't match the view. The eggs and muffin were average, and the Canadian bacon was fine — slightly salty with a too-thick rind. The Hollandaise was a disaster, with the greenish color and chalky taste of a powdered substitute.
There were no potatoes, but there was a small pile of cut fruit: melon, watermelon, and pineapple.
On the other hand, the rest of the menu looked very good. Waffles and pancakes were good, and kids pancakes are served in the shape of a bear. For the truly hungry, try the Dude: a glass of milk, a blackened rib eye steak, home fries, eggs, toast and coffee. For the insane, there's always the Cardiologist: an 8-egg omelette with 3 types of cheese, ham, bacon, and (not or) sausage.
