There is a diner scene in The Bourne Identity, early in the film, where Jason Bourne realizes that he has unconsciously noted the license plates of all six cars outside, the left-handed waitress, the best exit and other details.
I had a similar feeling with my first bite of Benedict. It had been at least a year since I’d tasted eggs Benedict, and over 22 years since I last wrote a brunch.org review, but after one bite my brain began its catalog: Canadian bacon too thick and dry with a too-tough rind, egg too watery and slightly overdone, Hollandaise no lemon bite. Later bites shows the potatoes were mushy and unsalted.
The good news is that this Bostonian Benedict did help motivate me to rebuild, modernize and republish the brunch.org site. And it is now the first new review posted to the reborn site.
