Unfortunately, Bistrot Zinc does not serve steak au poivre for lunch: “dinner only, sirs.” No help for our hangovers.
But, they did serve a thin steak, overdone, with basil butter and belt-cut frites, nicely crisp.
The meal was uneventful, except for constant dive-bomb attacks by a group of flies, and the eerie, complete lack of diacritical marks on the painted windows.
Next time, we’ll both go with the fantastic lamb sandwich.
